تفاوت در کاربرد "between" و "among":

Between:

برای اشاره به روابط یک به یک استفاده می‌شود.

مثال:
- He had to choose between a bicycle, a train, a pair of sneakers, and a new backpack for his birthday present.
همچنین می‌تواند در توصیف روابط فضایی استفاده شود.

مثال:
- Our holiday house is between the mountains and the sea.
از آن برای اشاره به گروه حرف اضافه‌ای استفاده می‌کنیم که شامل دو عبارت اسمی مفرد یا جمع است.

مثال:
- There was a cyclist [prepositional phrase] between the car and the lorry.
- I didn’t see any difference [prepositional phrase] between the real bags and the imitation bags.

Among:

هنگامی که به روابط نامشخص یا غیر مشخص اشاره می‌کنیم یا می‌خواهیم بگوییم که چیزی یا کسی یک بخش از یک گروه یا مجموعه است، از among استفاده می‌کنیم.

مثال:
- There wasn’t much unity among the council members.
- She only ever felt comfortable when she was among her friends.
